Being raised in Miami, Florida, I came to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee, with little knowledge of the area or its residents. The longer I was here, the more I loved the scenic beauty and friendly people of East Tennessee.  My first jobs after college took me out of Knoxville for a few years.  But, I realized the hold that Knoxville had on me, and I returned to start a furniture and bedding store.

While building my business, I developed many life-long friends, customers and business relationships.  I have always loved interacting with people and believe that characteristic has allowed me to connect easily on a personal level, and understand people’s needs.  That aspect of our business is sometimes overlooked, but I see it as a core of a good working relationship. The eleven years that I spent growing and developing my business was a good training ground for my practice today.  It helped me understand the importance of customer service while also experiencing all the personal and financial hurdles of running a business.  

My wife and business partner Jacki started her financial services career several years earlier than I.  Realizing the depth of the benefit of helping people that this profession offered, I decided to sell my business.  Jacki has been an excellent mentor, helping me enter the financial services industry and to recognize the importance of furthering my education to assure that my clients received the very best advice.  To that end, I earned the Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designations.

Jacki, David, Eric and I make an excellent team. We share the same level of integrity, zeal for education and client service. We also have our individual skill sets that we can leverage for the benefit of our customers.  The culture and work ethic exhibited in our office is what makes Waypoint Financial Partners,LLC ( formerly Imbrey & Associates) a special planning firm with whom to do business.  Our clients are the beneficiaries of our team chemistry and experience and because of this they continue to refer their friends and relatives to us.
